My daughter absolutely loved books, but she loved for me or her dad to read them to her and she did not want to read them herself. If we pushed at all, she would simply say that she couldn’t read. It was like she had no interest whatsoever in reading unless she was being read to. At the suggestion of a friend, we enrolled her in the Milestone Reading phonics program. All of the sudden I would find her sitting down on her own, reading the latest book she was interested in. She reads to us more than we read to her now.
