The guy we promoted to supervisor last month has been doing a good job, he is always on time, he understands the employees’ issues, and he maintains a level of respect. There have been a few lessons he has had to learn though, like when he scheduled plant training last week. He did not make the training mandatory and only had ten guys show up. I noticed that this weeks flier stated that attendance is mandatory. With everything a new supervisor needs to learn, I can tell he has already learned one of the most valuable lessons. His next challenge is going to be getting past being his employees’ friend.
