Second Marriages In Decline

February 19th, 2010 . by admin

During the 1970s and the 1980s, it was common that people would marry for a second or third time after a separation or the death of their spouse. This trend contunued into the 1990s and the early part of the twenty-first century however over the past two or three years there have been fewer and fewer second marriages.

Raleys Solicitors have noticed a decline in the number of people re-marrying and using a legal expert for advice, and the Office for National Statistics has released figures which show that the number does seem to be falling. However, there are not less marriages in general, in fact the number of people getting married for the first time has gone up.
