Before I gave birth I went on a tour of the birthing center where my midwife works.  She showed me the private rooms that they have for each birth, and she showed me that each room had whirlpool tubs, comfortable chairs, birthing balls, and any other accessory that might make labor easier.  I really felt comfortable by the time the tour was over that I had picked not only the right midwife but the right place to give birth.  When my labor started I waited until the contractions were quite close before we went in an I had my baby in my arms within two hours.
