Band lovers, rockers and whatever you call music lovers all around, we all love to buy stuff of or from our musical idols right? From classic rock bands to nu rock, don’t we wish to find a band store that caters to all our rock fan needs? Shirts, posters, hoodies, stickers, and whatever else we can think of (as long as it’s within the boundaries of common decency that is), we all want a band store that will give us what we want. Well, look no further. The band store to end all band stores has arrived. And, man, it’s just a click away.

Becoming a wedding photographer

December 13th, 2009 . by admin

As an assistant, I worked with some of the best wedding photographers in Chicago.  It was great experience and I’m now ready to go into business for myself.  I highly recommend working with a professional so you can learn the ropes.  There’s so many things you may never think of and who wants to be put in a situation where people don’t feel comfortable working with you.   I probably worked about 50 weddings and picked up many good ideas along the way.  How to handle people was probably the biggest thing I took with me.  You need to be in tune with your client to get the best photos possible.

Facing language issues

December 13th, 2009 . by admin

Then you must eat Chinese food. But to skip eating locally while traveling in China is to skip part of the culture. Failing that, you think, well Spaghetti Bolognese is rather internationally understood, so I’ll eat Italian tonight. You know the Starbucks servers in Shanghai will speak English enough to understand you need a triple-Venti-caramel-no-foam-whipped-cream-decaf-latte and you know you’ll be able to point to the pictures in the McDonald’s in Beijing. When you’re traveling in Asia Rocket Chinese can be very tempting to head toward recognizable brands so you don’t have to face language issues and possible embarrassment when you order. Now the only inhibition to your China shopping spree is your wallet. Don’t be afraid of a language barrier – in large cities you’ll probably find at least one English speaker and hand signals work very well. China Post is your answer.

Thoughtful Gift That Lasted For Years

December 2nd, 2009 . by admin

As a graduation gift from high school, some aunt of mine gave me a book full of quotes. At the time, I just said thank you and went along my merry way. But when I had my baby recently, I found the book when I was doing up my thank you notes. I was looking for some thank you quotes to use in the notes as I printed them myself.  The long ago forgotten book really came in handy and I appreciated it even more. I sent a second thank you note that day to that aunt for her thoughtful gift that lasted for years.

Appreciating Bodhran

November 25th, 2009 . by admin

I am not the kind of person who would only get on with things and never really finish them especially when I find them difficult to handle. For me, there are so many things that we need to focus on and all that. Well I think that the bodhran really made me sweat every liquid I could. To learn how to play the bodhran is something but to make the instrument and your self move as one is something else. That is the essence of playing the bodhran and all the other instruments. Well, later though I finally got to learn how to play it well and I am really happy.

First Time Decoupage Success

November 20th, 2009 . by admin

Are you a crafty, artsy kind of person? I am, and I am always looking for new techniques that will allow me to express my artistic side. There are so many great new ideas out there. I have just finished working on a wonderful 3D Decoupage project. It is unlike anything I have ever tried before. In fact, I have stayed away from Decoupage because I doubted I would be pleased with the final results. I was so wrong! My first attempt came out better than I could have imagined. I’m not sure yet where I am going to display it, but I consider this to be one of my best projects so far.

How to Sing Powerfully

November 19th, 2009 . by admin

Robert Plant is who I wanted to sound like as a young singer.  He just sang some songs with such emotion.  Learning how to sing more powerful was a priority as a musician because I knew I could inspire others.  The drama and motion wrapped up in music was very attractive.  We can learn to sing effectively with less effort if we use the right techniques.  Some people don’t understand that you don’t necessarily have to try harder to be profound with your singing.  You can relax and create more volume and dynamics if using technique correctly.  Start with the beginner tips and get better at singing over time.

Finally Successful!

November 16th, 2009 . by admin

I’ve finally found a way to combine two things I am very passionate about: my love of Jesus and my love of music.  I had taken private lessons on guitar a time or two in the past but never got the hang of it.  I could bang out a few chords, but it never seemed like I would really be able to play well.  Then I found worship guitar lessons and everything changed.  I was able to learn step by step and found that within a very short time I was playing my favorite worship songs.  My wife’s prayer group has just asked me to lead them in music next week and I’m thrilled to be able to do it with confidence.
