So you finally get a guitar, but it sits in your room gathering dust because you haven’t taught yourself how to play.  This shouldn’t be an obstacle anymore, especially at this day and age where it’s easy to just pick up a learn guitar dvd and self-study.  The trick is in choosing the right dvd, though.  To the untrained beginner, that instructional dvd has to be completely user-friendly.  It shouldn’t be more complex than your average picture book.  It should also contain a lot of useful tips and tricks – little bits of advice that you can keep in mind while playing to help you on your way to graduating from mere string-strummer to bonafide guitarist.
